Regardless of the season, the minimalist in me is always drawn to the simplicity of black and white. I love that when the two achromatic colors are combined, the results can be anywhere from rock ‘n’ roll to uptown chic. When I met a friend on Saturday afternoon in the west village, unsurprisingly I opted for black biker jeans juxtaposed with a crisp-white ladylike blouse. I topped it off with a chunky gold necklace and one of my favorite 60s-inspired coats.

The reason I say “one of,” is because it’s literally one of two. I loved the coat so much that when I thought I lost it, I instantly re-bought it. Of course, the original one turned up, and now I have the luxury of wearing whichever one has less lint. It’s so convenient, I’m now considering buying two of all my coats. I kid. 👓

I would like to know when is it
apprepate to wear black and white? It’s it business attire that that rule applies only in fashion?
